Friday 25th May
AM – Training at FC LLoret – Everyone getting used to the 3G
pitch surface, a cross between Astroturf and an athletics track. Session
concentrating on keeping the ball on the floor and working at Spanish style ticky-tacky
passing manoeuvres. Sam Allardyce this is not for you!!!
Pep Guardiola oversees training |
Water World Lloret de Mar – Chilling by the pool and hitting
one of the fastest water slides in Europe. Fantastic day had by all. Highlight
had to be the Penglais downhill water slide championships. I think Mr. Evans
might have done this one before - getting into the final four.
PM – Matches at FC St. Coloni –
Yr 7+8 – Galliant first half defence in the blistering heat
against a very organised team. Several good attacking runs from Penglais with
defence and goal keeping being really important. Final Score – FC St. Coloni
10 Penglais 0
Yr 9 – Brilliant first half performance held the home side
at bay with strong defence and some strong surging runs led to a couple of good
chances for Penglais. A fluke goal from FC St. Coloni on 28 minutes with a
quick second before half time left our boys with a lot of work to do. Second
half saw a tired Penglais team succumb to a highly organised Spanish attack
Final Score – FC St. Coloni 9 Penglais 0
AM Match at FC St. Coloni
Year 8 + 9 – After a good night’s sleep and a feed our boys
put in a massive performance against another very well disciplined side. With
an early St. Coloni goal it looked like another defeat might be on the cards.
Time for a tactical shift – out with
Ticky Tacky in with Wacky Wacky – Using our big target men up front with quick
running Penglais picked up a quick equaliser and then went on to pick up
another three before half-time. St. Coloni pulled back another one in the early
second half but Penglais sealed the game with a fifth late in the second
half. St. Coloni 2 Penglais 5
Nou Camp Experience –
Fantastic tour of the museum at Nou Camp, walk out into the
stands and a view of the impressive silverware on display. Follow that up with
seeing Messi, Piquet. Valdes, Mascerano. Afellay, Puyul, Villa and Pedro coming
back to celebrate last nights win in the Coppa del Rey can’t be a bad result!!!
PM Shopping in La Rambla, Barcelona
Time to get some souvenirs at a
slightly lower price than the FC Barcelona Shop.
